FAQ

  • Can I print my photo myself?

Your included digital download is web-sized (2048px), perfect for sharing online or making small personal prints (up to about 5×5 or 6×6 inches).

For larger wall art or high-quality prints, I recommend ordering directly through your online gallery — that’s where your full-resolution image is used and professionally color-calibrated.

  • Why should I order prints through the studio?

Ordering through the studio ensures your image is printed using professional lab equipment and materials.

    This guarantees:

    - Correct brightness, contrast, and color

    - Long-lasting archival inks

    - Beautiful mounting and finishing options

Each print is carefully checked for quality before shipping — so your iris art looks as stunning in person as it does on screen.

  • Can I get the high-resolution file?

Full-resolution files are reserved for studio print orders to maintain the integrity and quality of the artwork. If you’d like a large-format or specialty piece, you can order it directly through your gallery, and the high-res version will be used automatically for printing.

  • How long do prints take to arrive?

Print orders are processed and shipped directly from our professional lab partner within 3-7 business days (depending on size and finish). You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order ships.

  • Do you change my eye color?

I never “change” your eye color, but your final image may look different from what you see in the the mirror. This kind of photography reveals details and colors that aren’t always visible to the naked eye. That’s what makes it so special! Your eye color is a complex mixture of layers, textures, pigments, and light reflections. I carefully edit the image by removing glare or reflections, enhancing sharpness to highlight fiber structure, and balancing light and shadows to keep the true beauty, color, and structure of your iris.

  • How old do you have to be for a session?

I recommend if you’re planning to have children photographed, that they be at least 5 years old. Although most children’s eye color will stop changing by the age of 3, this is more due to the fact that this type of photography requires the participant to be pretty still. I have kids of my own so I know they can be wiggly! It really all depends on if you think they can sit still with their eye open and a light shining at it haha.

  • When can I expect to receive my digital photos and access to my gallery?

You can expect your images between 3-7 business days.

  • Do you offer pet photography?

I don’t at this time. Pets can be challenging to work with. If I decide to give this a try in the future I will definitely make an announcement!

  • How long does a session take?

When you book your session it is set to the max time I believe it will take to complete the session. It could very well take less time if everything goes as expected. The process involves taking several images of your iris trying different techniques to make sure we have an image with great detail and focus.

  • How does purchasing Add-Ons work?

If your interested in an Add-On for the available collage(s) you need to make sure you select the number/type of design upgrades you would like first and then decide how many Add-on(s) you would like. If you do not have any Collage Design Upgrades selected then you will not be able to utilize the Add-On design option.

    Example:

When booking your appointment - you choose to book a Double Iris digital package and decide you’d like to have two collage design upgrades and one of those upgrades is also offered with an Add-On option (the number of upgrades will be represented by the number in front of the option e.g., (2) Collage Design Upgrades). You’ve decided that you’d like to do the Add-On to the one design upgrade, so you would select just the (1) Collage Design Add-On.

  • Where are Add-On options located?

Add-Ons can be viewed in my Design Gallery under the Double Iris Design Upgrades and Family/Group Design Upgrades collections.

  • How do Add-Ons work?

Add-On options are currently only available for the “Split” and “Infinity” designs. This means you would need to have chosen one of those as a design upgrade to take advantage of doing an Add-On.

When viewing my Design Gallery you should see Add-Ons options in a separate section of the collections. They will aways have a (+) in the title as well if you’re unsure.

  • Can I only choose the design upgrades based on my package?

You are not limited to the design upgrades that equate to the amount of people in the package you choose.

    For example:

Lets say Sally wants to book a family session for her family of five (mom, dad, three kids).

She wants to do an design upgrade on the collage with all five of them and also have a design upgrade with just one of her and her husbands iris from the Double Iris collection. This is absolutely an option! Sally can choose any design upgrades from single to five iris’s.
